BankDeclined.com is operated by Certus Credit, a debt advisory firm. This site exists to reach operating businesses whose bank has declined, exited, or declined to renew a facility, to understand the situation, and to hand qualified enquiries to the Certus Credit desk. This policy explains what we collect here, why, and who it goes to.
Certus Credit is not a lender and does not make credit decisions. This site is not affiliated with any bank.
Who this policy is for
This site is for business use. We arrange business-purpose commercial financing only, and we do not offer or arrange consumer credit. What we collect is business contact information and information about a business and its debt, provided by someone acting on that business's behalf.
Information you give us
When you complete the enquiry form on this site, we collect:
- Your name, business name, business email address, and telephone number.
- Information about the business and its existing debt: what happened with the bank, the type of facility, the industry, how long the business has been operating, and the timeline you are working to.
- Anything you choose to write in a free-text field.
If an engagement proceeds with Certus Credit, you will be asked for further material directly, such as financial statements, a debt schedule, lender correspondence, and collateral information. That material is covered by this policy and by the engagement letter between you and Certus Credit.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider records standard server information when you visit: IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the date and time. This is used to operate and secure the site.
Advertising measurement and audiences. This site carries Meta's advertising pixel on every page. It reports page views back to Meta, and reports when you reach an enquiry outcome or book an assessment call, so we can tell which advertisements produce genuine enquiries rather than clicks. If you reached us from an advertisement, or you have a Meta account, Meta may associate that visit with your account. We may also use it to build advertising audiences of people who have visited this site, so that we can show later advertisements to them.
You can limit this in your Meta account's ad settings. Browser tracking protection or an ad blocker will prevent it entirely. If you would rather we did not use your information this way at all, tell us through the enquiry form and we will exclude you.
How we use information
- To assess whether the desk can help with the situation you describe, and to tell you plainly when it cannot.
- To contact you about your enquiry and to arrange an assessment call.
- To prepare and present a lending file to lenders, if you engage Certus Credit.
- To measure which advertisements produce genuine enquiries, and to build advertising audiences as described above.
- To keep records of enquiries, engagements, and the consents and instructions you give us.
- To operate, secure, and improve the site.
- To meet legal, regulatory, and record-keeping obligations.
Who we share information with
Certus Credit. BankDeclined.com is operated by Certus Credit, and a qualified enquiry is passed to that desk. This is the purpose of the site rather than a disclosure to an outside party. If you book an assessment call, the booking and confirmation are handled on certuscredit.com, so your information moves to that property as part of the same process.
Lenders and funding sources. If you engage Certus Credit, presenting your file to lenders is the service. A file is presented only to lenders whose mandates fit the situation, and only as part of the engagement you have instructed. We do not sell or distribute your information to lender lists, lead buyers, or brokers.
Service providers. Each processes information only to provide its service to us:
- Typeform, which hosts the enquiry form and stores the responses.
- Vercel, which hosts and serves this site.
- Meta Platforms, which provides the advertising pixel described above.
- Cal.com, which handles call scheduling.
- Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces used on the site.
Professional advisers and legal requirements. We may share information with our own legal or accounting advisers, or where required by law, regulation, court order, or to establish or defend legal claims.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do use an advertising pixel that reports to Meta and can be used to build advertising audiences, as described above. Depending on where you live, that activity may be treated by law as sharing personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. The ways to limit or prevent it are set out in that section.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to assess and respond to it, and afterwards for the period required by our legal, regulatory, and record-keeping obligations. Engagement records are kept for the period required for closed transactions. When information is no longer needed for any of these purposes, we delete it or render it non-identifying.
Security
Access to enquiry and engagement information is restricted to the people who need it, and our service providers are chosen on the basis that they maintain appropriate safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You can ask us to confirm what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, subject to records we are required to retain. Depending on where you are, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law, including the right to know, to delete, to correct, to opt out of sharing for advertising purposes, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. To exercise any of these, email contact@bankdeclined.com and say that your message concerns privacy.
If you would rather we did not contact you about an enquiry you submitted, tell us on the call or in reply to any message and we will stop.
Links to other sites
Where this site links to a third party, that party's own privacy policy governs what it does with your information. We are not responsible for the practices of sites we do not operate.
Children
This site is directed at businesses and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
